AC Electric has been meeting the electrical needs of Central Texans since August 1, 1984. We are a family business, founded and still run by Mike Short, a seasoned Master Electrician, and Debi Short, his CFO and wife of more than 50 years. Four decades later, our tagline still says it best: “Quality With Integrity Since 1984.”
Mike spent 15 years learning the trade and earning his Master Electrician license before opening AC Electric on August 1, 1984. From day one, the plan was simple: do honest work and treat people right.
Where the name comes from
“AC” stands for Alternating Current, not air conditioning. It also happens to be the initials of the Shorts’ youngest daughter, Amanda Christianne, who was born just one month after the doors opened. From the very beginning, AC Electric has been a true family business.
