WHAT WE INSTALL
A GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) outlet shuts off power in a fraction of a second if it senses electricity going where it should not, such as into water or a person. Code requires GFCI protection anywhere water and electricity can meet: kitchens, bathrooms, garages, laundry areas, and outdoors.
If your older home does not have it in these spots, adding it is one of the most affordable safety upgrades you can make.

If a bathroom or kitchen outlet has no test and reset buttons, it likely is not GFCI-protected, and that is worth fixing.
